Dr. Austin Sterne

Austin graduated from Birmingham University Medical School, England in 1991. He completed his vocational training in both the UK and Australia, and became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and obtained a Diploma in Family Planning in 1996. Austin spent four years in research and teaching at Birmingham University Department of General Practice, before relocating to Jersey in the Channel Islands. He moved back to Australia in 2001 where he became a member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and joined in partnership with Dr Soden and Dr Blanckensee in Banora Point in 2002. Austin is currently practicing at the Tweed Health for Everyone Superclinic which is a multidisciplinary team environment and believes that allows a more holistic and patient-centred approach to care. Austin's clinical interests include men's health, skin cancer medicine, diabetes, and chronic disease management. He is also excited with the prospect of becoming involved again in teaching and research within the Superclinic. He is married, with four children, two of whom are studying at the University of Queensland. He enjoys spending as much free time as he can with his family.
